This original oil stick paintings were all created 'freehand'; the oil sticks were applied directly with hands/fingers.  No brushes nor tools/instruments are used to apply the medium. They are meant to be vibrant, whimsical, expressive images- not precise nor realistic and nothing that graphic design nor computer would create. SURFER GIRL

Original by Morgan Fisher. Part of  WET WOMEN™ collection. Created on Maui Hawaii. Surfer Girl was part of a number of images inspired by the surf and wave riding lifestyle and for Wet Women™ and Wet Women™ Surf Wax marketing. Out of inspiration for her love for the water and windsurfing, Morgan Fisher created WET WOMEN, LLC in 2004. WET WOMEN is about supporting, motivating, advocating, and promoting women in water sports across the world in a fun and caviler way!

The original linocut is a Japanese-style, hand-rubbed, with water-based and relief oil-based inks on Japanese Kozo paper~24"x17" matted. The kozo paper and the matting are both off-white. Each print is unique in its edition of four, with variation in color of red with a hint of black. Because these are hand-rubbed, there is variation in texture and opacity; some spots are more anemic than others, giving it it's own character and monoprint quality. Each print is matted, signed and dated by Morgan Fisher and mounted on foam core for shipping/handling/storage

The Fine art, paper giclée paper print is a reproduction from the original Japanese-style, hand-rubbed woodcut by Morgan Fisher created for WET WOMEN and Wet Women Surf Wax

LOCAL WET WOMAN

Fun, bold, expressively created art, advocating women in surf culture and Wet Women! Created on Maui Hawaii. Local Wet Woman was part of a number of images inspired by the surf and wave riding lifestyle and for Wet Women™ and Wet Women™ Surf Wax marketing. Out of inspiration for her love for the water and windsurfing, Morgan Fisher created WET WOMEN, LLC in 2004. WET WOMEN is about supporting, motivating, advocating, and promoting women in water sports across the world in a fun and caviler way!

The original 'Local Wet Woman' woodcut was printed with relief oil-based inks on Japanese Kozo paper. Local Wet Woman’s maintains the theme of her figures in motion, that are often semi-distorted and/or foreshortened. Through the size, shape, and vibrant bold color, she works to portray the huge presence or individual personalities she sees in the subject matter. Local Wet Woman is meant to have a big, bold, impressionable presence for the power and joy women feel on the water and boards. She’s in the viewer’s face, reminding oneself of the raw, untethered, free spirit, out in and on the element! Yeah baby!

The Fine art, paper giclée paper print is a reproduction from the original Japanese-style, hand-rubbed woodcut by Morgan Fisher created for WET WOMEN and Wet Women Surf Wax. Signed -from a limited-edition production. The LOCAL WET WOMAN giclées are printed in small editions at a time, on high quality, glossy, satin, smooth giclee paper from a 12 color giclée printer

TOMAR EL SOL | AFTERGLOW

Created on Maui Hawaii. AFTERGLOW was part of a number of images inspired by the surf and wave riding lifestyle and for Wet Women™ and Wet Women™ Surf Wax marketing, beginning in 2004.

Fun, bold, expressively created art, advocating women in surf culture and Wet Women! TOMAR EL SOL (original name | aka 'sunbathe' | to take in the sun). The playfulness around 'afterglow' is an important part of the Wet Women cavalier way.  The significance of both ‘the mildly euphoric feeling experienced after a pleasurable experience’ and a ‘glow in the sky after sunset’ both define this image title, feel and intent.

Like her other woodcut images of women and animals, the Die Bruke Germanic style of woodcut process and imagery heavily influence Morgan’s style through art school printmaking; later it continued to influence her printmaking created for Wet Women and other projects.  She enjoys their style of  exaggeration, distortion, bold color and line, primitivism, and sometimes crude qualities that create nontraditional and more interesting perspective of women, animals, nature. She enjoys the group’s nontraditional approach in evoking a mood or idea that is more natural to her own perspective and style.

The Fine art, paper giclée paper print is a reproduction from the original Japanese-style, hand-rubbed woodcut by Morgan Fisher created for WET WOMEN. These paper giclées are printed in small editions at a time, on high quality, glossy, satin, smooth giclee paper from a 12 color giclée printer
